Good day dear reader, welcome to my Blog/Phlog - #LifeThrough5MP.
Seeing my blog title, I am sure you may be a bit puzzled as to why of all the titles that I can come up with, I chose one that starts with a Hashtag (#) and has no space between words (just like a Twitter or Instagram post). Am I right? Now, fear not, because my first post on this blog will answer that, and more.
Guys and gals, here is #LifeThrough5MP's introductory post.
Who I am:
First of all, let me introduce myself. I am Ecko Dizon, but I prefer to be called by my nickname (which is the name I use a lot through social media and the web), Ko-Ecks.
I have been blogging for a while now; however, one of my hobbies is taking photographs. In fact, I do love taking photographs with any medium available, ranging from simple point and shoots to more advanced DSLR cameras (I guess, photography runs in our blood as my late grandfather is a professional photographer ).
I do believe that with photographs and images, we can capture moments in our life in a way that sometimes words cannot. With this outlook about photography coupled with my enthusiasm to the craft, I have decided to start my very first "Photo Blog" or "Phlog."
Why #LifeThrough5MP?
Now, why #LifeThrough5MP, you may ask? Let me explain that in detail:
When talking about photography, you think about the photographer and then, the equipment right? The DSLRs, the mirrorless cameras, or the high-end point and shoots to name a few. However, some people tend to ignore the thing that is called "Mobile photography".
Mobile photography? "As in the camera in your mobile phone", you may ask?
Yes! that complementary camera that your mobile phone comes with. That is what I am talking about! You see with the advent of technology, our mobile phones nowadays can be considered a great and powerful device that can capture, edit, and distribute images, especially when the one using it knows the fundamentals of what makes an image work. Besides, (almost) everyone has a phone with a built-in camera so it is easy to say that it is the most handy piece of photography equipment that anyone can easily have at any time and any place.
To quote Chase Jarvis, “The best camera is the one that’s with you.”
Since the minimum megapixel count for a mobile phone camera (that will produce respectable photos) nowadays is 5 megapixels, I decided that with this photo blog, I will concentrate on documenting "Life" thru a "5 megapixel snapper" (somewhat setting this Phlog of mine to a photography-for-the-masses type of endeavor), thus the name - #LifeThrough5MP.
Mobile Phone Photography Only?
I may have chosen a title with "5MP" on it, but that does not mean that I will concentrate solely on a 5 megapixel snapper for all the photos that will be appearing in this Phlog. As I have said before, I take photographs with any medium that I have, so I may feature a lot of photos here through a 5 MP lens, but that does not mean that I won't be putting some stuff that I shoot with other mediums like a point-and-shoot or a DSLR for example. If you fear that this Phlog may just be a showcase for mobile phone photography only, then fear not dear reader because that will not be the case.
My Motivation is being an Inspiration
My motivation for this Phlog is to inspire other people to try photography with every means possible, even if it is just with a humble 5MP snapper mobile phone camera, because I think photography is a rewarding and learning experience if you put your heart and mind to it. There is no better way to document life than through a Camera Lens and since technology has been generous with giving us new tools to explore and try photography ourselves, then why not take the chance and grab it, Right?
Reactions?...No problemo, Amigo!
As always with all the things I do, I welcome Constructive Criticism because I do believe that feedback will make me a better photographer and blogger. This is my first Phlog, so any comment and criticism from readers will be a very good thing, so I encourage visitors and readers that if you want to comment on my posts, feel free to do so and I will really appreciate it.
Okay, and that is it! An introduction to my first ever Phlog. If you have read through all of it, THANK YOU for your time and I encourage you to come back and read my next post/s in this Phlog of mine!
Ciao and God Bless!
