In my own Words, I call this the "Thrifty-Fifty" |
Now for starters, a prime lens is a lens that has no zooming capabilities. Yes, unlike other advanced standard zoom lenses, you do not have the option of zooming in or out with this kind of lens, you use your feet for zooming in and out as you move to make your subject fit the frame as you want it. Kinda sucks? Not really! You see the trade off with this lens is that it opens wide, or has a wide aperture compared to the kit lens or other standard zoom lenses. With it, you can take pictures with sharp detail and even take photos in situations with low light.
Matter of fact is, I use this lens often. Personally, I have the cheapest one offered by Canon, the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II. It has a very unbelievable quality/price ratio that in my personal opinion, this is a recommended lens to have or at least try.
I call this baby - The "Thrifty-Fifty."
As within the theme of this "Phlog", I will start posting pictures taken with the 50mm lens. I do hope that you will watch out for those in the future.
Until the next post,
